Introduction
Introduction
My research aims to characterize the impacts of UV-B radiation on key Red Sea biota, encompassing
keystone species in benthic (macroalgae, corals) and pelagic (phytoplankton, larvae)
habitats. I use data from field observations and field and laboratory
experiments to assess impacts of UV radiation at multiple levels: molecular,
cellular, physiological, organismal, holobiont and population level. A further aim
of my research is to elucidate complex interactions mediated by UV light for
selected Red Sea organisms, focusing on UV-driven constraints on organismal
life history, as well as possible benefits of UV-B exposure.
